Most vehicles are shipped on the open car carriers that hold 8-10 vehicles at time. These are the same type of carriers you see delivering cars to dealerships.
However, there are a number of scenarios where you vehicle might be transported on a different type of carrier:
When you choose enclosed transport, your vehicle is shipped on an enclosed carrier. Most enclosed carriers are designed to carry fewer than 8 vehicles at a time.
If your car is shipping a shorter distance, such as within the same state, carriers that hold 2-4 vehicles are commonly used.
If the demand for auto transport in either the pick-up or delivery area is limited, it may be economical for auto transporters to use a truck with a lower capacity.
Regardless of the car carrier your vehicle ships on, you want to be sure to choose an auto transporter with a good track record of happy customers.
