What Causes Auto Transport Delays?

Auto haulers are typically on the road a lot to make use of their most expensive asset — the truck and trailer. The more an auto transporter can work a truck, the more cheaply they can afford to transport vehicles. With trucks on the road so much of the time, anything that delays them, such as a paperwork problem at pick-up, a late customer, a flat tire, or long weigh station lines, can cause delays in your pick-up and delivery times.

Due to the risk of delays, you should be skeptical of any car shipping company that provides you with an exact pick-up time. Most car shipping companies give you a 3-day window for pick-up. And if there are any delays, they should inform you ahead of time.
