Privacy Policy

Move Cars is a vehicle transport marketplace operated by Padgett Enterprises LLC, doing business as Move Cars. In this policy, “Move Cars”, “we” and “us” mean that company.

This policy explains what personal information we collect through the Move Cars website and app, what we do with it, and who we give it to. It covers the website, the app, and the text messages we send as part of booking.

You give us:

• Shipment details you enter to get quotes: where the vehicle is picked up and delivered, the vehicle itself, and when you want it moved.
• Booking details: your first name, last name, email address and mobile phone number.
• Anything you send us directly, such as an email to our support or sales addresses.

We also collect automatically, as you browse:

• Your IP address, browser or device type, and the pages or screens you view.
• In the app, an identifier for that installation of it.
• The page or search that sent you here.
• Interaction recordings and error reports, described under cookies and analytics below.

The company listings on this site describe businesses, not you. They come from the transport companies themselves and from public records such as the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s registry.

The app may ask to use these parts of your device. Each is optional, it asks before using one, and you can turn it off at any time in your device settings.

• Camera: to read the barcode of your vehicle identification number. The barcode is read on your device, and no photo is saved or sent to us.
• Location: when you ask the app to fill in your pickup location, it reads your device's location and uses it as that pickup location.
• Notifications: to tell you when your quotes are ready.

• Give you quotes and connect you with the auto transport company you select.
• Verify that the phone number and email address you gave us are yours.
• Answer your questions and provide customer support.
• Operate, secure and improve this site, including detecting fraud and abuse.
• Meet our legal and tax obligations.

We do not use your information to make automated decisions that have a legal or similarly significant effect on you.

The transport company you select. When you book vehicle transport through Move Cars, and agree to it on the booking form, we provide your name, email address and phone number to the auto transport company you selected, so they can arrange and carry out your shipment and contact you about it. That is the delivery of the service you requested, not marketing.

Contact permissions you give a transport company. A transport company may ask, on that same form, for your separate permission to contact you by automated call, text or prerecorded voicemail, including with offers of their own. That permission is given to them, is governed by their terms and their privacy policy, and is optional — your booking does not depend on it. Withdraw it with them directly, using the instructions in their messages; replying STOP to our verification codes does not stop theirs.

Service providers. Companies that run parts of this service for us — hosting, text message delivery and error monitoring — handle your information on our instructions and for no purpose of their own. The analytics and anti-fraud providers described under cookies below are not in that group: they use what they receive for their own purposes as well.

Law and safety. We disclose information where the law requires it, or where it is necessary to protect the rights, property or safety of Move Cars, our customers or the public.

Business transfers. If Move Cars is sold or merged, customer information may transfer as part of that transaction.

We do not sell your personal information to data brokers or list sellers.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All other categories of information are subject to the sharing described elsewhere in this policy.

Giving your phone number to the transport company you select, described under how we share your information, is the delivery of the service you requested, not marketing, and it does not include your mobile opt-in consent or your text messaging history. Any permission you give a transport company to contact you with offers is yours to give and theirs to honor. We do not sell mobile information, and we do not hand it to anyone for marketing you have not authorized.

The text messages we send are one-time verification codes, sent only when you ask for one on our booking form. The Move Cars Terms of Service describe the program, how often it messages you, and how to stop it.

On the website, we and our providers set cookies and similar technologies; the app uses comparable tools built into it. Across the two they cover analytics and product measurement, session replay on the website, error and crash reporting, page-speed measurement, checking that requests come from our genuine app, updating app settings without a new release, and protecting our forms from automated abuse.

On the website, Microsoft Clarity records a replay of your visit — the pages you see and where you click. When an error interrupts you, Sentry records one too, and that replay captures what you had typed into the form; we mask a vehicle identification number or license plate before it leaves your browser. We use both to find and fix problems. Our booking forms are protected by Google reCAPTCHA Enterprise, and pages showing a map load it from Google; both are subject to Google’s own privacy policy and terms.

Some state privacy laws treat what an analytics provider receives as “selling” or “sharing” personal information. On the website, your browser’s cookie and tracking settings limit what these tools can collect.

We keep your information for as long as we need it to provide the service and to meet our legal, accounting and dispute-resolution obligations.

We text you only when a verification code is requested for your number, so whether we text you is up to you. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, or to object to some of the uses described here. Email support@movecars.com and we will respond within the time the law allows. We will not treat you differently for exercising any of these rights.

Move Cars is for adults arranging vehicle transport. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us information, email support@movecars.com and we will delete it.

We protect your information with encryption in transit, access controls, and monitoring for abuse. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We update this policy as the service changes. The date at the top shows when it last changed, and the version on this page is the one that applies.
